A Marriage Without Love

Eun-soo, who works as an art teacher at the social welfare foundation “Yeollim,” encounters Nam Tae-kyung, an executive director at Hyowoon Construction, one day. Tae-kyung holds an umbrella over Eun-soo, who is caught in the rain, and even sponsors the children at her orphanage. Eun-soo finds herself falling for his kindness. “I’m not that good of a guy. I’m even worse than you think.” Eun-soo takes his warning as a sign of hurt rather than a reason to turn away. Believing he will change after they marry, she accepts his proposal. But to Tae-kyung, this marriage is nothing more than a stepping stone to success. When Eun-soo discovers that his kindness and sponsorship were all lies, she declares that she wants a divorce. “Let’s get divorced.” Only after Eun-soo leaves does Tae-kyung realize his own arrogance and come to regret it bitterly. Though their marriage began with an impure scheme, in the end, only genuine love remained, as if by a cruel twist of fate.
